Miguel Ricou was born at Oporto, Portugal, European Union (1972). He has got a clinical psychologist degree in 1997 (Superior Institute of Health Sciences (Porto) and a Master degree in Bioethics (Porto University) in 2004. He has been a fellow visitor at Gallaudet University, Washington DC in 1998. He is Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Medicine, Porto University and the coordinator of the Ethics and Psychology Unit of the Department of Bioethics and Medical Ethics. He is also a Professor in the master course of Bioethics in the Oporto Medical School. He was a founder of the Portuguese Associationof the Bioethics and a member of the general assembly since 2002. He is also affiliate to the American Psychological Association. His main areas of research are: a) ethics and psychology; b) ethics and addictive behaviors; c) psychologists ethical principles.
