Cristina Nunes was born at March 14, 1965 at Porto, Portugal. In 1990 she has got a graduation in Pharmaceutical Sciences (Porto University, Portugal) and in 2001 a Master Degree at Portucalense University (Portugal). The topic of the Master Thesis was “Business Ethics and Social Responsible Investments”. She is at present a Ph.D. student at Porto University in the scientific area of social responsibility. She was a founder of the Portuguese Association of Bioethics and the President of the General Council since 2002. With regards her professional activity she is Assistant Professor of the Department of Bioethics and Medical Ethics of the School of Medicine, Porto University, and coordinator of the Environmental Ethics Unit of this department. She is also Professor in the master course on the Bioethics in the Oporto Medical School, and coordinator of the Post-Graduation Course on Hospital Administration (Portuc. Univ./ Porto) since 2002. She was a founder of the Portuguese Association of Bioethics and a president of the general assembly since 2002. She is also affiliated to the Biopolitics International Organisation (Athens). Her main areas of research are: a) environmental ethics; b) business ethics; c) animal ethics.
